What is Curricular Practical Training (CPT)? CPT는 수업 과정 진행중에 Work Permit을 받아 주 20시간 이내로 인턴쉽등 학교 외부에서의 취업이 가능한 근로 허가로 조건은 1년이상 재학 한 후 신청할 수 있고, Full time 또는 Part Time으로 가능하며, 주 20시간-1년 또는 주 20시간 미만으로 일을 하더라도 2년이 지나면 졸업을 하더라도 나중에 OPT를 신청할 수 없습니다. Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is an employment opportunity available to F-1 students where the practical training employment is considered to be an integral part of the academic program. (Not all majors require work-experience as part of the academic program.) Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a type of off-campus work permission for F-1 international students who want to gain experience in their fields of study.

1. be in valid F-1 immigration status for at least two semesters (except students who must work as a requirement for their degree) 2. secure a job offer related to the student's field of study 3. obtain CPT authorization BEFORE beginning employment; authorization cannot be post-dated. 4. be registered for classes at the school; CPT cannot be used when a graduate student is in "filing fee status."
